NATIONALISM
This value was one of the most influential in Germany at the time. After losing WWI and the signing of the Treaty of Versailles, German pride was at an all-time low. The people felt that the Weimar government had 'stabbed them in the back' by agreeing to the terms of the treaty, and they were incredibly angry. When Hitler rises to power and spews praises for the nation, the German people back him entirely. Nationalism is essentially the belief that one's nation is superior to all others. Hitler believed that as the superior race, pure Germans had every right to eradicate the world of 'vermin' such as the Jews, and planned to expand the German nation.
