THE SURVIVORS AND THE VICTIMS
Over 6 million Jews were brutally murdered during the Holocaust, which equates to over two-thirds of all Jews in Europe at the time. More than one and a half million of these were helpless children. This means that over half of all people killed during the Holocaust years- including soldiers- were Jewish.
Almost every Jewish person in and around Germany at the time was close friends with or related to at least one person that was murdered or died during this time. Those who were not killed had to find a way to live on, having lost mothers, fathers, brothers, sisters, friends, relatives. These people had to live out the rest of their lives scarred with the horrors of the Holocaust and the loss of people dear to them.
